Letter to Tot on the resurrection

Sorry to be so long in getting back to you. I realize you are busy and so won't keep you long. It was a nice surprise to get your letter and we will certainly be very pleased to get your latest study on slogans, once it is finished.

I have read quite a few things by TW but don't remember anything dealing with the resurrection. Have you checked out his site? It is www.carriedcross.org and he does have a lot of interesting (and very scriptural) things to say. However our relationship with him never really took off after the initial flutter of exchanged emails. But never mind, I check their site out from time to time and while I don't understand nor agree with everything they write, for the most part they have a slant on the word which is sorely missing today and which is very refreshing.

Our own thoughts on the resurrection are quite undeveloped. I have always just taken the few verses that talk about it at face value and assumed that we would one day we would wake from the sleep of death to our judgement and rewards. I don't think I have ever heard anyone saying that this could possibly happen as soon as one dies, or there would be, not one resurrection and judgement but millions every hour. But maybe that is how the Lord will work things; I don't know. I'm not sure how much difference it would make to us either since the sleep of death is (by definition) a time of inactivity and unconsciousness therefore once we die, the next event we will encounter will surely be ... the resurrection!

Interesting thoughts and we'd like to hear yours, when you have time. Also, how is it going in your family life as an extended family? Is Camille living with you now?

Drop us a line when you have news some time!
