Received today

Sarah got a nice home-made card of condolences today from a family called Roess living somewhere in France.

(Though we know several families by that name, the stamp on the envelope recorded neither the date nor the place of posting, much less the address. Never mind, we have our ideas.)

It's the thought that counts and it's a nice gesture.  Thank you, Roess family, for remembering your mother and your grandmother and your mother-in-law at this sad time for her.

It's a funny thing: though we try to hide we cannot.  We tend to think that life will be paused while we're away but it doesn't work like that.  Life—and death—goes on with you or without you.  What will be next?
(The Roess family sends you their condolences on the death of your mother.
